How Aurelle is paid, and what the payment does not buy

Readers pay nothing. Professionals pay Aurelle. That is a conflict of interest, and this page says how Aurelle limits it.

The conflict, plainly

A professional who pays Aurelle has a reason to want to be named. Aurelle has a reason to want professionals to pay. Both are true, so Aurelle limits what the payment can touch.

  • The seat fee is charged only after the election or re-election it covers has been decided, so no one pays in advance for a verdict.
  • No one who pays sees an application, sets a criterion or changes a score.
  • Payment does not decide which professionals are named in an Introduction, or in what order. The rule that does is published on the Introductions page.
  • Each name in an Introduction email says whether that professional pays Aurelle for it.
  • Aurelle sells no financial products and takes no share of what you pay a professional.

What is not sold

  • No sponsor is named on any Aurelle site. If one is ever sold, the slot is labelled, and no sponsor is near a rule, a score or a criterion.
  • No affiliate links. Aurelle earns nothing when you open an account, buy a product or click a link.
  • No data sales. What you type into a calculator never leaves your browser.

Which professions pay per Introduction

Some professions' own rules limit or forbid paying for a referral. Aurelle charges the per-Introduction fee to a profession only after counsel has confirmed that its rules allow it.

Seat fee and per-Introduction fee by profession. Draft, November 4, 2026.
ProfessionSeat feePer-Introduction fee
Cross-border accountantsYesNot charged yet. Pending a check of the profession's rules.
Cross-border estate lawyersYesNot charged. None will be charged until counsel confirms the profession's rules allow it.
Fee-only plannersYesNot charged yet. Pending a check of the profession's rules.
Insurance advisersYesNot charged yet. Pending a check of the profession's rules.
Investment advisers, portfolio managers and mortgage professionalsYesNot charged. Securities rules require a written referral agreement and disclosure to the client, so no fee is charged until counsel has cleared the arrangement.

A row changes to "Charged" only after the check, and the change is dated in the corrections log. Until it does, the professional pays a seat fee and nothing more. Report a mistake on this page.
