The fine print, in plain words

Information, not advice
Aurelle publishes information, not advice.
Everything on this site, in the newsletter, in the show, in the calculators and in the Diagnostic is general information about rules that apply in Canada and the United States. None of it is advice about your situation. Aurelle does not know your whole situation and does not tell you what to do.
Aurelle is not a registered investment dealer, adviser, portfolio manager, broker, tax preparer, accounting firm, immigration consultant or law firm in any province, territory or state, and nobody at Aurelle is licensed to give you financial, tax, immigration or legal advice. The founder is not a planner, an accountant or a lawyer.
The calculators and the Diagnostic do arithmetic on what you enter and name the rules they apply. They can be wrong if a rule has changed, if your facts differ from the ones the tool assumes, or if a rule the tool does not cover applies to you. Every rule shows the date it was last checked.
Introductions are not recommendations. Aurelle names professionals who hold a seat in the Aurelle Institute, which records that published criteria were checked on a stated date. Aurelle does not guarantee their work and is not party to any agreement between you and them. Each name says whether that professional pays Aurelle for the Introduction.
Before you act on anything here, talk to a professional who is licensed where you live and who knows your situation.
Privacy
What Aurelle collects, why, and for how long.
- Calculators. Nothing. They run in your browser. If you copy a link to a result, the link holds the numbers you entered and nothing else.
- Newsletter. Your email, and a record of your consent: the exact wording you saw, the date and the page. Kept until you unsubscribe. The consent record is kept for three years after, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.
- The Diagnostic list. Your email and your consent record. The email is deleted once Aurelle has told you the Diagnostic is open. When the Diagnostic opens, this page will say what it keeps, and for how long, before it asks you anything.
- Introductions. Your request: country, state or province, topic, accounts involved, anything you wrote, and your email. Kept for two years. Shared with a professional only after you tell Aurelle to share it, by replying to the email Aurelle sends. That professional then holds it under their own privacy duties.
- Corrections. What you send, and your email if you give one. Kept as long as needed to answer you. The public log does not name you.
- Analytics. None. This site runs no analytics scripts and sets no cookies. If that changes, this section changes first and the date above changes with it.
- Server records. The service that serves these pages keeps ordinary records of requests (the address, the page and the time) for security.
Who sees it. The people at Aurelle who need it for the job, under confidentiality. A form service and an email service handle what you submit on Aurelle's behalf, under written terms. Write to privacy@aurelle.finance for their names.
Your rights. You can ask what Aurelle holds about you, ask for a correction, ask for deletion, and withdraw consent. Aurelle answers within thirty days. Aurelle follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and, for residents of Quebec, Law 25. If Aurelle ever sells the business, your data goes with it under the same rules, and you will be told.
Every email Aurelle sends names Aurelle and its mailing address and has a working unsubscribe.
Terms
Short, because the rules are few.
- You may use the site, the calculators and the Diagnostic for yourself. You may quote a page or an episode with a link to it. You may not copy the site, scrape the roll or resell the tools.
- A seat in the Aurelle Institute is governed by the seat agreement signed at election. These terms do not change it.
- Aurelle may change or remove any content. Pages carry the date they were last checked and changed.
- To the extent the law allows, Aurelle is not liable for loss that comes from relying on general information. Nothing here limits a right the law gives you.
- Ontario law governs, and the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to your own courts.
The Standard's rules
Nine rules apply to everything Aurelle publishes. They are the same on all three Aurelle sites.
- Aurelle publishes information, not personal advice.
- Aurelle sells no financial products and takes no share of what a client pays a professional.
- No sponsor sees an application, sets a criterion or influences a score. The conflict-of-interest policy is published on the Aurelle Institute site.
- A seat fee is charged only after the election or re-election it covers has been decided, so no one pays in advance for a verdict.
- The criteria are the same for everyone, and each profile shows the date of every check.
- The Diagnostic publishes its twelve rules, their weights and its arithmetic.
- The Aurelle Index, a yearly report, publishes totals and names no applicant, client or complainant.
- Where a profession's rules do not allow paying for referrals, Aurelle charges no per-Introduction fee for that profession, and says so.
- Every change to these rules or to the criteria is dated, logged and published before it applies.
Accessibility
Aurelle builds to WCAG 2.2 level AA: text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, every control reachable by keyboard, a label on every input, and motion reduced when your system asks for it. Episodes will carry captions.
Last tested November 4, 2026 with automated checks of contrast, labels and headings, and by keyboard. No outside audit has been done yet.
If something on the site does not work for you, write to hello@aurelle.finance. It is fixed, or you are given the content another way, within five business days.
